Miye J. Yi

Partner

Miye is a partner in the firm. Her practice areas include all aspects of community association law including general corporate matters, assessment collection litigation, and covenant enforcement litigation. Miye also handles commercial and business litigation matters. Miye works hard to identify and work towards her clients’ best interests and finds solutions not only in the legal sense but also in practical matters. In her community association practice, she strives to positively impact communities by successfully addressing covenant violation issues, recovering large amounts of unpaid assessments, and helping members of the association understand and appreciate each other in a way that fosters a healthy community.

Miye was born in South Korea and grew up in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1997 with a B.A. degree in English Literature. Miye received her J.D. degree from New York Law School where she was an executive board member of the Moot Court Honor Society.

Miye has substantial experience representing community associations throughout Georgia. She is an active member in the Georgia Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) and currently serves on the Helping Hands Committee. Miye received the CAI Georgia Doyle P. Jones Leadership Award in 2016 and the CAI Georgia Rita Kennedy Award – which is the highest honor given by the chapter – in 2017. Miye also writes and lectures on many topics relevant to community associations including covenant enforcement and collection strategies, bankruptcies and foreclosures.

In addition to her active involvement in CAI, Miye is also a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers as well as the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Miye also provides pro bono legal services through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, Inc. As a member of CAI Georgia, she co-chaired the Helping Hands Committee to raise money and resources to fully fund and build a home for a deserving family with Habitat for Humanity North Central Georgia in 2016. Miye also works with Covenant House of Georgia as a volunteer to make improvements to their facilities.

In her spare time, Miye enjoys reading, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family.
