Shawn E. Mckenzie

Shawn is an associate in the firm’s real estate and construction litigation practice group. Originally from McDonough, Georgia, Shawn came to Atlanta via Athens as a Double Dawg. He obtained undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Affairs before acquiring his law degree from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining Winter Capriola Zenner, LLC, Shawn started his career at a mid-sized Law Firm based in Atlanta, Georgia handling a wide variety of real estate, corporate and litigation matters.

During law school, Shawn interned with the Honorable Judge Lark Ingram in the Cobb County Superior Court and the EPA’s Office of Regional Counsel. Both gave him firsthand experience with litigation and inspired him to work as a litigator post-graduation. As a member of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law, Shawn authored and published a Note regarding both national and global environmental initiatives. Shawn is also a member of the Real Estate Section of the Georgia Bar Association.

After law school, Shawn moved to Atlanta and settled into the Old Fourth Ward right across the street from Ponce City Market. He is a very big Atlanta sports fan, and one of his favorite activities is tailgating in the fall with family and friends at Bulldogs and Falcons football games. During the spring and summer, Shawn can be found trying out the many different restaurants that Atlanta has to offer.
